Wow, what a day that was at work. I am a cashier at Wally World nearby. We did pretty dang close to 1 mil for the day! That was a record breaker for our store.
I reported for work at 5:30 a.m. (found out could have gone in earlier) after driving around the parking lot looking for a place. Found one. The only other time I have seen the lot that full, was when we had a blizzard and I-70 was closed for several days. I counted over 80 semis in the parking lot, plus all the local people stocking up on groceries. Anyway, when I finally had my lunch break at 10 a.m., I couldn't remember where I had parked and it took me walking thru several rows before I found it. I was going to move my truck over to the area where associates are suppose to park but that area was full, so just left it. I got home around 3 p.m., slumped down in my overstuffed chair, fell asleep for a little bit, got up and crawled into bed for a 3 hour nap, ate and crawled back into bed for the night.
Son came up from New Mexico and spent a couple of days with us, so was good to see him again. We had dinner over at Juno's house. We played our traditional game of Tri-ominos. Think I won this year. Outside Christmas decorations are up as well as the tree inside is decorated. Last year I found some solar powered LED outside lights and we put them around the edge of the porch; but this year I put them around the two front windows along with those battery powered candles that have a photcell to come on at dark, hung a wreath at each window. I have an old-fashioned look to the front of the house. The lights in a smaller place look much better.
The work schedule came out for the work week ending 12/19 and it made me realize I need to get my application in for my next personal leave starting in January. Only 4 or 5 more weeks. My gosh all that I need to get done - new tires for the trailer, put the other cupboard latch on, get my financial house in order, do some other little fixer uppers and start getting the cupboards stocked again. Oh way, oh way, can't wait. Starting to shape up the direction to head this time - WESTWARD!
I want to see my friend Annie in Palm Springs, my brother out in Fullerton and my friend Bonnie near Fresno, explore the deserts of California and western Arizona. Going to take in one of those hot springs that seem to abound in eastern Arizona and western New Mexico. WARMTH here I come!
